A quick evening walk!

Did a quick circuit along the golf course dunes from the toilet block to Old Hunny GC clubhouse & then back via the River Hun, of note were 2 male Wheatear in dunes. Chinese Water Deer in the rough field just before you reach the caravan site along the Hun. Stickleback in several locations along this stretch. Gadwall pair in the wet marsh on the east side of the Hun. Several hundred Bar-tailed Godwit were wheeling around in the skies late on.

What is interesting along the River Hun is that near the clubhouse there is a profusion of weed growth within the River. This is reasonably prolific until you reach the first of the drainage dykes further north, after this the weed is virtually non-existent. There are several of these run-offs from the GC and I wonder if the water from the GC is currently slightly saline or maybe it's something else being used on the GC itself??
