Another excellent day, with highlights being a Pebble Prominent in my Hunstanton moth trap, 2 Swifts west about 7am (my first for the year), a Tawny Owl peering out from one of the nest boxes in the patch, several Commas in Ringstead Downs, which, together with a Small White, brought the the weekend total of butterflies to 13, another Shieldbug for the patch - this time Hedge Woundwort Shieldbug - of which there were many along Peddars Way, a single individual of the red-spotted form of Brassica Shieldbug in Ringstead Downs, amongst many white-spotted individuals, a superb Hairy Dragonfly in Holme NOA, my first for the year, and two new hoverflies - both smart-looking black and yellow ones in Ringstead Downs. Plants new in flower (for me) were Sanicle and Wood Avens in Ringstead Downs. Robert found some weird-looking scale insects on Ivy along Peddars Way.
